Fall Protection Equipment Inspection

  • Standing Seam Roof Anchor/Clamp Inspection



    It is recommended that the Standing Seam Roof Anchor be inspected before each use.

    Formal Inspection: A formal inspection of the Standing Seam Roof Anchor must be performed at least annually by a competent person other than the user. The frequency of formal inspections should be based on conditions of use or exposure.

    Warning: If this equipment has been subjected to fall arrest forces, remove from service and destroy, or return to an authorized service centre for repair.

  • Visual Touch Inspection

    Indicate Pass Criteria or Fail Criteria for each step.
  • Step 1. Entire unit is free of damage or excessive corrosion. Look for cracks or wear that may affect the strength or operation of the unit.
  • Step 2. All labels are present and legible. See Figure 2 below.
  • Step 3. Swivel bracket is free of damage, corrosion, cracks, deformities, or excessive wear.
  • Step 4. Swivel bracket I can swivel 360°.
  • Step 5. SRL is securely attached to the swivel bracket.
  • Step 6. Seam clamps are not bent or damaged.
  • Step 7. Set Screws (2) are present and in good condition.
  • Step 8. All clamp plates and seam clamp fasteners are torqued to the manufacture’s specifications.
  • Step 9. SRL has been inspected.
  • Step 10. Harness has been inspected.
  • Every Standing Seam Roof Anchor must have a legible tag identifying the model, date of manufacture, name of manufacture, limitation and warnings.

  • Cleaning and Storage

    Clean the Standing Seam Roof Anchor with a mild soap and water. Excessive build up of dirt may prevent the swivel bracket from swivelling.
